What Pi AI is
Pi AI is Inflection AI's flagship personal-intelligence product as of September 2026, marketed as 'A personal intelligence partner' and still available to consumers on the web (pi.ai / hey.pi.ai) and via iOS and Android apps. After the March 2024 Microsoft arrangement, in which Microsoft licensed Inflection's technology for US$650M and most staff (including Mustafa Suleyman and Karén Simonyan) moved to Microsoft AI, Inflection under CEO Sean White pursued an enterprise pivot (Inflection for Enterprise, launched Oct 2024, plus an Intel Gaudi collaboration) while keeping consumer Pi free, with a message cap introduced for free users in Aug 2024. Inflection AI Labs continues research into empathetic, human-centered AI.
Funding snapshot
Inflection AI raised US$1.3B in June 2023 at a US$4B valuation. As part of the March 2024 arrangement, Microsoft paid Inflection US$650M to license its technology (source: Wikipedia).
