Tabnine is an AI code completion and agentic coding platform founded in 2013 as Codota in Tel Aviv by Dror Weiss and Eran Yahav, renamed Tabnine in May 2021 after Codota acquired the original Tabnine product (created in 2018 by Jacob Jackson). It is now part of Tricentis, which acquired Tabnine in 2026 and describes itself as a leader in agentic quality engineering. It delivers multi-LLM code suggestions, a Tabnine Context Engine, AI agents for coding, code review, testing, and documentation, and supports SaaS, virtual private cloud, on-premises, and fully air-gapped deployments with no code storage.
